This two-piece plastic case is designed for 4Runners without push button start and is also compatible with other Toyota applications. Constructed from high-strength, impact-resistant ABS plastic (with black made of PC-ABS), this key fob offers superior durability and protection.
Unlike the traditional snap-fit design, this case bolts together using socket head cap screws, providing a more secure and straightforward assembly process. To install, you will need a 7/64" Allen key, which is included with your purchase.

Important Notes
Reuse Existing Components: The original key blade, electronics, battery, and transponder chip are reused (not included with purchase). No reprogramming is necessary.
Key Extraction: The OEM case must be destroyed to extract the key, as it is molded into the case. In some instances, the key can be easily pulled out, but in others, cutting the case may be required.
Alternative Key Options: If you prefer to retain the original case and key, you can purchase an additional OEM shell and key, have it cut, or discard the integrated key blade altogether and use a separate key.
Transponder Removal: The transponder chip may be glued in place, making its removal difficult. Use caution during this process to avoid damaging the chip.
Assembly Warning: Do not use threadlocker such as Loctite on this product.
In some cases the transponder is easily removed, though in most cases it will be glued and require cutting the case and/or heat for removal, this can be somewhat difficult. If care is not used during removal, the transponder may become damaged and stop working (fob/key will not start vehicle).
