On Harman Kardon-equipped vehicles, the factory radio's volume control does not regulate the aftermarket subwoofer connected through the RCA outputs. This means the subwoofer may continue playing even when the factory stereo volume is turned down to zero.
A powered subwoofer with a separate bass volume control can provide independent adjustment, but it does not restore factory volume synchronization.
