Unlike the factory cluster lighting, the TEQ Customs Glow Gauges feature their own built-in illumination system with a separate dimmer control. This provides an alternative to relying on the aging factory backlighting and dimmer, which can become unreliable or fail over time.
The new gauge faces install directly over the factory gauges for a clean upgrade without replacing the entire instrument cluster.

Transmission & Tachometer Compatibility
Different tachometer gauge faces were used depending on model year and transmission configuration.
Each TEQ Customs Glow Gauge set includes both tachometer face variations, so you can simply install the correct version for your vehicle.
1998 Automatic Transmission: Uses the dedicated 1998 automatic tachometer face
1996–1997 Automatic Transmission: Uses the alternate tachometer face
1996–1998 Manual Transmission: Uses the alternate tachometer face
Both versions are included with every order.
Odometer & Mileage
Installation of the Glow Gauges does not alter or reset your vehicle's odometer reading. Your existing mileage remains unaffected because the new gauge faces install over the factory gauges rather than replacing the vehicle's underlying mileage components.

Installation
The TEQ Customs Glow Gauges install over the factory gauge faces and utilize the included inverter and independent dimmer for illumination.
Installation for the 1996–1998 gauges follows the same general procedure as the 1999–2002 4Runner application. Refer to the provided installation video for detailed installation instructions.
